Princess

The other day Trever took Maddy pheasant hunting, so it was just Kennedy and I eating breakfast. Kennedy asked me if I was done, I told her I was full and couldn't finish all my breakfast. She told me "mommy if you finish all your breakfast you will be a princess like me"! This girl cracks me up

Maddy turns 6

So we had a FLIP FLOP party! So many friends came, we played musical chairs, pin the sticker on the flip flop, a race with sticky things you throw at the wall, a pinata, and of course decorated flip flips! Each kid got to take home a pair of flip flops they decorated, it was a mess but fun!

Getting through Winter

Jan/Feb and into March is so hard, they are the worst months. So I try to find things to get us out of the house. Here is somethings that have been keeping us busy.

I got a great deal on a 10 pack of Jungle Jim all day passes. $2.60 each, cant beat that for a day of fun.

We went and bought new life jackets for the whole family today and it has us all more then ready for summer!

Program

Maddy's kindergarten class had a Christmas program. They sang lots of cute songs, and each got to tell a joke. Maddy's joke was "What do you call Santa when he is not moving? Give up?? Santa paws"

Then in February the whole school did a founders day program. Each grade did a different part, and the whole school sang Hero, it was touching. Kindergarten did the pledge of allegiance in sign language.

We had another great Christmas, spent with family and friends. Trever had to work Christmas eve and Christmas day on graveyards but at least he got to be home for the important parts of the day

Progress

Few quick notes.
Kennedy FINALLY potty trained a few months ago. She still has to wear a pull up at night, but we are working on that.
Maddy was really excelling in her Kindergarten class and I was concerned the year would be a waste for her academically. So I had her teacher test her for the schools AR (advanced reading) program. She tested at a second grade level, and gets to participate. Finally something to challenge her. We are two books in and she has passed them both off. Its neat to see her loving to read, its like a whole new world has opened up to her. She is getting some Fancy Nancy books for Christmas, I'm excited to read them with her.
