Triathlon complete

I finished!! And not last!
I did it and finished!! Time was an issue, seems we have something every weekend so I finally decided to do the Lunatic Triathlon in Price since we would be near there for a family reunion. It didn’t start until 10pm, which I was a bit nervous about. Then when I got there I found out they switched the order from swim, bike, run to run, bike swim UGG I hate running and now I have to do it first?!?! But all went well; I did the run in 30 minute, less than 10 minute miles pretty fast for me. My official time was 1 hour 22 minutes. It was nice to have a cheering squad, Trever, my mother in law Jan, sister in law Deana, nephew Kolin. And friends Mike and Becky drove down from SLC just to cheer me on, I really have great family and friends. I had a great time; I think I will try for another one… maybe.

Starting the swim, the last leg

Starting, they switched the routine at the last minute so the run was first

2010 Mortensen Reunion

The reunion was at Huntington reservoir, very nice place. Almost all grass and concrete = clean children. We even had an inflatable pool for the kids to play in. Lots of good food, games, and nice to see the family. But, we spent the majority of the time boating. Our family had 4 boats up there. I'm not sure why getting bounced around on a tube, face pounding into a tube over and over is so appealing?? But I couldn’t get enough of it. Maddy had a great time too, she is a tough girl she wouldn’t let go for anything. She would get completely submerged and come up still hanging on. Kennedy liked the tube, but was not so happy in her life jacket unless she was swimming. The water was pretty cold but she never wanted to quit swimming, I think she would have stayed until she had hypothermia and still been happy swimming. It was Kylie's first time ever going to a lake. She was nervous on the boat and tube at first but by the end of the weekend she was flipping off the tube.
Trever normally refuses to get on anything being pulled by a boat, but we even got him on the tube but only if the little ones were also riding. What a wuss

Boating, camping, games, having fun is tiring

ABC- Dance performance

Maddy had her summer dance performance, they danced to ABC. Maddy did really well, and had a lot of fun. This may be her last for a while, so Im happy she enjoyed the recital. I think she is going to try gymnastics for a while, seems more her style. Let her give that a try and then let her chose which she likes best. Its going to be sad leaving dance, she has made so many friends. So we will see what happens

Lagoon- Maddy's paradise

Forgot a camera, dang it! We planned out annual Lava trip and then found out it was the same weekend as Chevrons Lagoon day. So Maddy and I tagged along to Thatcher’s (Trever's previous employer) Lagoon day. It was a perfect day at Lagoon, not too hot and the lines were not very long. Maddy still loves the Tidal Wave but this was the first year she could ride “The bat” which is now her new favorite ride. She is 41 inches so we were scared they wouldn’t let her on the rides, but they didn’t even check. Kennedy is still too short to ride too many rides; we will take her next year. She had a great day playing at her great grandma’s house.

First camping trip of 2010

We went to Diamond Fork campground we had never camped there before, it was really nice and not dirty. Maddy was able to ride her bike all around the camp loop which kept her happy. Ended up being just the 4 of us, we went on a 10 mile bike ride up the canyon. Very pretty, but pulling both girls up a mountain gets very tiring. Great trip for our first time out this year.
No pictures, I was still researching what camera to buy to replace the broken one

Viva Las Vegas-

On a late night whim we decided we were going to UFC 114 Rampage vs. Evans. Our good friends Kristin, Shawn, Trever and I really wanted to see this fight so off to Vegas we went. We went for 3 days; our only plan was to watch the fight. It was nice just lounging around the pool all day, with no agenda. Trever and Shawn did go to the UFC convention that was being held in town, they waited in line for 3 hours for Titos autograph. Crazy boys. The fights themselves didn’t turn out how we wanted, but it was still amazing being there live. One of the nights we ate at Dicks in Excalibur, it was a blast. Odd being treated that way, but lots of fun.

my last picture taken with this camera, the girl sitting next to us dropped and broke it.

Poem

Y for yes and N for no
a fish in a dish....N.. why, because a fish would swim out of a dish (and the look on her face was like DUH mom)
a ship for a trip...y... because you and dad went on a trip on a ship when I was 3 but you can only go on trips if your with your mom and dad, right mom?
some chips and dip.. y... we do chips and dips all the time. (Guess we need to get our diet in check)
a pig dancing a jig...n... pigs don't dance

What would you wish for?
Sun- no snow, wind, clouds, sand only sun sun sun
cake- one with 1 million candles so that I get one million wishes
cha-cha-- because its so fun

I love little kids minds. This was a homework sheet Maddy and I were doing
