First day of Kindergarten

Maddy has been waiting for this day for a year! It finally came, and she was so excited. We were all ready to walk to school, but when we woke up it was horrible weather. Our brand new deck was covered in hail, IN AUGUST! Her teacher is Mrs. Miller, so far so good she seems to like her.
I cant wait to see what she learns this year. She is going into Kindergarten doing two digit addition and subtraction (21-15 or 32+18), counting by 2,5, and 10's to at least a 100 (she counted to 606 in the car the other day, I had to finally stop her our sanity was in jeopardy haha). She is reading pretty good but still needs help with some words like celebrity she couldn't sound out. Still having a hard time with all the silly English spellings, but heck I still have a hard time sometimes. She can tell time on a traditional clock, which is great but no tricking her into going to bed early anymore. I have been telling her all summer she cant go to kindergarten if she cant tie her shoes, I kept trying to teach her but she would get so frustrated. The night before school started she locked herself in her room and figured it out. I was so proud. She knows money but only change, we are working on bills. The other day she was out playing in the circle and a neighbor guy had one of those blow up hammers she asked him how much it cost, he said .50 cents, she said Ill give you .25 Im only willing to give you a quarter. The other neighbor came over to tell me how impressed she was that Maddy not only knew her money but could negotiate. I had her doing half hour of homework a day all summer, mean mom at the time but she is going into Kindergarten well ahead of what she needs to know. And really she loved it, she had to remind me to give her homework most the time.

And just a reminder of what changes in a year, this was start of preschool a year ago
